Serving in Huntingdon, PA
My name is Adrienne Willhoft and I was a member of City Reformed from 2013-2017, having moved to Pittsburgh when I began working for the CCO. My role with the CCO is a unique one: I serve with a department called Experiential Designs (XD). As a department we support the organization as a whole and staff and students from multiple campuses through designing and leading experiences for discipleship and growth. Whether it be a wilderness trip, retreat, service trip, or simply a few hours of team building, there is power in removing students from their normal places and rhythms in order to create spaces where God can be talked about, heard, and encountered in new and holistic ways. With a Masters degree in Spiritual Formation, I am particularly passionate about designing spaces for others to learn about or lean into new spiritual practices and have time for fellowship and retreat with the Lord! I have found that there is great need and desire for those spaces for other CCO staff and I am excited that designing experiences for staff care and formation continues to be a growing part of my role.
I live now in Huntingdon, PA where I also serve on campus at Juniata College mentoring and discipling students as the last piece of my dual role with CCO. When not at work you can find me doing almost any outdoor activity, drinking good coffee, and cooking creative and delicious food!
Thankful to God for:
The semester finished up really well. The summer is always different with the quiet on campus, but also a welcome break in some ways. I've still had a good amount of work busyness going on, but also have some personal vacation and family vacation later in the summer - so I'm looking forward to that!
I had a large trip with XD (68 students!) in May that was a lot of work and time, and then also just last week got back from a week helping out with some staff training at a camp I used to work at (canoeing, outdoor skills, and some teaching on Sabbath and other spiritual formation pieces). It's a special place for me so I love being back up there and being able to serve them.
Please pray for:
Two events in August: a canoeing trip with students from the Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh and a large freshman orientation with Ohio Wesleyan University Students.
For all CCO staff as we gather in July for Summer Conference: for it to be a space of encouragement and growth, and for me as I help lead a spiritual formation session for staff.
For preparation for the fall semester on campus, a smooth transition to full time campus role, and wisdom in figuring out new time, commitments, and priorities.
