Sunday School begins at 10am. Children's classes meet on the second floor of the PAA in the Crown, Mural, and Patrician Rooms. The adult class meets on the second floor in the library.
Our worship service begins with a five minute prelude at 11am.
How should I enter the building?
Please enter the building from the back entrance, which is accessible via the parking lot on Lytton Ave. If the door is locked, please buzz into the building. Once you are inside, please follow our signs downstairs to where we will be worshipping.
Is there childcare?
Yes. Nurseries for infants and toddlers are located on the second floor of the PAA in the Crown, Mural, and Patrician Rooms. There is also a Children's Church component of the service for kids age 5-8. This meets in one of the nursery rooms during the sermon. Children are escorted to and from Children's Church by the leaders.
Where can I park?
If you are able to walk a block or two, there is ample street parking around the PAA and throughout Oakland. Street parking is free on Sundays.
Parking is also available in the PAA's valet lot, off Lytton Ave. City Reformed has purchased some tokens for the valet parking, which are available at the welcome table. Parking is available for people who need it. That includes people who have trouble walking from a more distant spot, people with young kids who can't be dropped off at the door, and people who are new to Oakland and have trouble finding a spot to park. Tokens can also be purchased at the front desk for any desired use of the parking lot. The standard fee is $8, but is discounted to $5 when you say you are with City Reformed.
Another option is Soldiers and Sailors Parking Garage which is located right across Bigelow Blvd. from the PAA, and costs $5 for two hours. There is also a metered lot on the corner of S Bouquet and Fifth Ave.
What is the Sunday School like?
During the school year we have several classes for children plus one class for adults and teenagers. The classes for children are divided into ages 2-3, grades K-2, and grades 3-5. We also have a nursery during this time. The children study basic Bible truths and have some fun; the teen and adult class looks at classic theology topics.
